As our microbiome becomes more complex and contains a wide variety of microorganisms, the intestines will have a greater resistance to disease and a greater ability to recover from ‘malfunctions.’

Imagine a rainforest that contains a vast variety of living things like weeds, shrubs, trees, birds, reptiles, mammals, and insects. If a natural disaster occurs, the restoration of the fabric of life and the ecosystem will be faster and better as the diversity of creatures becomes greater.

Additionally, the more a microbiome is varied, the more components it can break down from our diet and ultimately make the most of every meal that we eat.
