In the next stage of the personalized nutrition project study, all of the data accumulated in the study (from the subjects’ metrics to the DNA sequencing) was used to develop a sophisticated algorithm.
An algorithm is a machine learning code of “decision trees” that takes into account thousands of different possibilities. The algorithm of the personalized nutrition project was constructed to predict what the postprandial glucose response (PPGR) would be according to the foods fed into it.
After the algorithm was ready, it was tested for readiness on 100 individuals. The algorithm correctly predicted their glucose response at a high predictive level. For the first time in history, a tool was developed to predict whether or not certain foods will spike blood glucose levels according to personal microbiome data!
